Cowgirl is still here, just very busy

Just a quick post to say that I have been incredibly busy, and haven't had time to post. Sometimes, life gets in the way of having fun. I generally prefer it the other way around.

There is certainly a lot going on in the world. I'm particularly interested in how the Israelis handle the current situation relating to the kidnappings (and murder). It would suit me just fine for them to employ a scorched-earth policy in the Palestinian territory (or whatever it is called these days). When the Israelis finally get fed up, they are awesome.

The NYT is a scumbag publication, and it is difficult for me to believe that anyone actually pays to read that rag. The Feds should shut it down, along with the LAT, and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law, both criminally and civilly, the editors/corporation/anyone and everyone connected to yet another major national security breach. The "leakers" who provided the story, should be fired, stripped of all of their really great government-employee benefits, prosecuted, and preferably hanged for treason. Yes, I have a definite opinion about this.

Nature-wise, it's flooding in the NE and dry as a popcorn fart everywhere else. Wouldn't it be nice if the whole country got about 2" of rain every week? No lawn watering necessary. No boats floating down streets. I, for one, despise watering, and my lawn shows it.

What can I say? I live in Texas. In the summer, it is hot, and dry, and humid. Thank the Good Lord for air conditioning!

NYT Strikes Again!!

treason - violation of allegiance toward one's country or sovereign,
especially the betrayal of one's country by waging war against it or by
consciously and purposely acting to aid its enemies.

The New York Times has done it again.

In their own story, they say:
"Under a secret Bush administration program initiated weeks after the Sept. 11 attacks (my emphasis), counterterrorism officials have gained access to financial records from a vast international database and examined banking transactions involving thousands of Americans and others in the United States, according to government and industry officials.

The program is limited, government officials say, to tracing transactions of people suspected of having ties to Al Qaeda."

Against the express request by the White House to the contrary, they have exposed yet another secret weapon in our arsenal which has kept us from being attacked since 09/11/01.

By the NYT's own admission, their article states,
"Bill Keller, the newspaper's executive editor, said: "We have listened closely to the administration's arguments for withholding this information, and given them the most serious and respectful consideration. We remain convinced that the administration's extraordinary access to this vast repository of international financial data, however carefully targeted use of it may be, is a matter of public interest."

So, Mr. Keller's judgment of issues of national security once again trump those of the President of the United States.

Lock Mr. Keller up, and throw away the key.  Ditto with the front door to the NYT.  This is beyond yellow journalism, this is treason.

But, Let's Not Worry.....

3 Officers Among 4 Decapitated in Mexico

The article says the bodies showed signs of torture and were beheaded.  Sound familiar?

This place is about 15 miles south of the U.S. border, and the officers were responding to a kidnapping, and were "intercepted by about 100 heavily armed, masked men dressed as Mexican federal agents."  Again, sound familiar?

We gotta get those borders sealed, folks.

Note: The new sprite is Ali Oburrito.

UPDATE:

In a follow-up story, the Dallas News gives us more information on the beheadings in Mexico.

MEXICO CITY – The red tide of narco killings continued in the resort city of Acapulco this week, with the severed heads of two men discovered Friday, officials said. A day earlier, another head was found on the stairs of City Hall.

All bore messages directed at the Nuevo Laredo-based Zetas, the enforcement arm of the Gulf cartel that operates along the Mexico-Texas border. It is in a vicious turf war with the Sinaloa cartel, named for the central Mexican state where it is based.

The message found with the first decapitated head, discovered in a black plastic bag Thursday, was for Heriberto Lazcano, the reputed leader of the Zetas. It referred to Zeta attacks against the Sinaloa cartel in Acapulco.

"Loscano [sic], keep sending me more of your idiot (soldiers) so they learn some respect," said the message left next to the plastic bag. It ended with the letter "z," pronounced "zeta" in Spanish.

Yes, I so want these people in my country. Isn't it nice that all they have to do is walk across the border. Gee! We don't even know when they come and go. How convenient..... for them.

Poor little man looking for work? I don't think so!

This is so gross and disgusting that I'm not going to post much, so just click on the link and read it yourself.

Illegal alien rapes puppy

Time to close the borders folks, and start enforcing the laws.  A puppy today, a child tomorrow.

Trans-Texas Corridor

Frau Budgie at Red Hot Cuppa Politics posted today about the proposed (some say "done deal") Trans-Texas Corridor. Here is an email from the horse's mouth. There will, no doubt, be future posts on this subject, but for now, here is some information.

Here is the website for the Trans-Texas Corridor: http://www.keeptexasmoving.com/projects/ttc35/deis_overview.aspx

Here is an email received relating thereto. Notice that at the bottom there is an email address to contact to get on a notification list:

Sent: Tuesday, April 04, 2006 4:33 PM
Subject: Preliminary Federal Environmental Approval Given to Narrowed Study Area for Trans-Texas Corridor-35

A multi-use transportation alternative to the heavily congested Interstate 35 corridor was approved today, according to a 4,000-page draft environmental impact statement (DEIS) signed by the Texas Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration on the Trans-Texas Corridor-35 (TTC-35). The report reveals that the narrowed study area lies slightly to the east of and incorporates the southern half of Interstate 35.

The area identified runs from Gainesville to Laredo . It will be generally 10 miles wide and within close proximity to I-35 and metropolitan centers, except where it is centered on I-35 south of San Antonio to Laredo.

The narrowed study area was identified as the preferred option because it best supports the purpose and need for TTC-35 and incorporates the most miles of existing highways and rail, 195 and 214 miles respectively

- an important factor according to public comments received.

More than 50 public hearings will be held this summer throughout the study area. Dates, times and locations of the hearings will be released in the near future.

A map of the narrowed study area and additional information on the DEIS are available at http://www.keeptexasmoving.com/projects/ttc35/deis_overview.aspx .

Please do not respond to this email. If you have any further questions or wish to be removed from the TTC-35 Project mailing list, please call toll free at 1.877.872.6789 or send an email to corridor@dot.state.tx.us .

A Few Facts & Figures to Ruin Your Day

I received this from another Minuteman. Read it and weep. Then get mad, and let's fix it NOW!

1. 40% of all workers in L. A. County (L. A. County has 10 million people)are working for cash and not paying taxes. This was because they are predominantly illegal immigrants, working without a green card.

2. 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.

3. 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens.

4. Over 2/3's of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien
Mexicans on Medi-Cal whose births were paid for by taxpayers.

5. Nearly 25% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican
nationals here illegally.

6. Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in garages.

7. The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles are most likely
illegal aliens from south of the border.

8. Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal.

9. 21 radio stations in L. A. are Spanish speaking.

10. In L. A. County 5.1 million people speak English. 3.9 million speak
Spanish (10.2 million people in L. A. County).

(All 10 from the Los Angeles Times)

Less than 2% of illegal aliens are picking our crops but 29% are on welfare.

Over 70% of the United States annual population growth (and over 90% of
California, Florida, and New York) results from immigration.

The cost of immigration to the American taxpayer in 1997 was a NET
(after subtracting taxes immigrants pay) $70 BILLION a year, [Professor
Donald Huddle, Rice University].

The lifetime fiscal impact (taxes paid minus services used) for the average
adult Mexican immigrant is a NEGATIVE

29% of inmates in federal prisons are illegal aliens.

If they can come to this country to raise Hell and march by the thousands,
Why can't they take charge over the corruption in their own country? We are
fools for letting this continue.

We Need More Mayors Like This!!

Now here's a mayor who "gets it"!  And from Pennsylvania, no less!

City to Crackdown on Illegal Immigration

By MICHAEL RUBINKAM, Associated Press WriterTue Jun 20, 5:10 AM ET

With tensions rising and its police department and municipal budget
stretched thin, this small northeastern Pennsylvania city is about to
begin what the mayor calls one of the toughest crackdowns on illegal
immigrants in the United States.

"Illegal immigrants are destroying the city," said Mayor Lou Barletta, a Republican. "I don't want them here, period."

Last week Barletta introduced, and the City Council tentatively
approved, a measure that would revoke the business licenses of
companies that employ illegal immigrants; impose $1,000 fines on
landlords who rent to illegal immigrants; and make English the city's
official language.

As Congress debates changes to the nation's immigration policy, some
cities are taking matters into their own hands, saying they have no
choice but to crack down on illegal immigrants themselves.

Barletta said he had to act after two illegal immigrants from the
Dominican Republic were charged last month with shooting and killing a
man. Other recent incidents involving illegal immigrants have rattled
this former coal town 80 miles northwest of Philadelphia, including the
arrest of a 14-year-old boy for firing a gun at a playground.

"This is crazy," said Barletta, who took office in 2000. "People are
afraid to walk the streets. There's going to be law and order back in
Hazleton and I'm going to use every tool I possibly can."

In San Bernardino, Calif., voters will decide whether to adopt a
measure similar to the one in Hazleton. Elsewhere, an Idaho county
filed a racketeering lawsuit against agricultural companies accused of
hiring illegal immigrants. In New Hampshire, a pair of police chiefs
began arresting illegal immigrants for trespassing.

"They're being forced to pick up the financial tab for all of this
nonsense and they are doing whatever they can to find ways to combat it
at the local level," said Susan Tully, national field director of the
Federation for American Immigration Reform, which advocates limits on
immigration.

But Flavia Jimenez, an immigrant policy analyst at the National
Council of La Raza, said local authorities typically are not equipped
to enforce immigration laws. She predicted the Hazleton crackdown would
prompt a civil rights lawsuit.

When Barletta took office in 2000, only about 5 percent of the
city's 23,000 residents were Hispanic. The population has since shot up
to 31,000, with Hispanics now comprising 30 percent, lured to Hazleton
by cheap housing, a lower cost of living, and jobs in nearby plants,
factories and farms.

City officials don't know how many of the new arrivals are in the
U.S. illegally, but say they are fueling the drug trade, joining gangs
and committing other crimes.

Barletta's office has been flooded with hundreds of approving
e-mails and phone calls — from as far as California and Florida — and
he got an impromptu standing ovation when he walked into a Hazleton
diner for lunch.

"It's about time," said Francis X. Tucci, 57, who was born and
raised in Hazleton and owns a hair salon with tiny American flags in
the window in the heart of the Hispanic business district. "We were a
nice community. You find bad everywhere, I understand that, but we're
talking about here and now."

Hispanics are divided. Some approve, saying they are fed up with
crime and graffiti. "If I was mayor, I wouldn't let anyone in who had a
criminal record," said Rafael Rovira, 69, a naturalized American
citizen from the Dominican Republic.

Others view the proposal as punitive and unnecessary, saying that
most illegal immigrants obey the law and only want to work. "It's going
to scare a lot of people," said Christian Lechuga, 23, who emigrated
from Mexico eight years ago.

Bullwinkle has good article on "Immigration Turnabout"

Dennis Hastert, Speaker of the House, was the rain at the picnic last week, relaying the news to House Majority Leader Boehner that passage of an immigration bill in the near future did not look good.

Bullwinkle points out, as I have said on many occasions, we don't need more laws for the government to not enforce.  We already have laws to deal with illegals aliens in our country, and the Constitution mandates defence of our borders.  What we need is enforcement.

It's sad about the Dixie Chicks

Oh how I loved their music, even after I trashed all the CD's after the Chicks trashed my President and my country.  Alas, there seems to be no possibility of redemption for the Chicks, following Natalie Maines most recent inane verbage:  ‘Why do you have to be a patriot? About what? This land is our land?
Why? You can like where you live and like your life, but as for loving
the whole country… I don't see why people care about patriotism.’ ”

Well, Natalie, let me give you a clue.  Your band has gone from Number One to ancient history, because your fans do believe in patriotism.  You, apparently, don't get it, but I hope you invested your earnings wisely, 'cause your fans ain't coming back.

Read the whole thing if you can take it, at Red State.

Did the NYT break the law publishing the NSA expose?

Bottom line:  Yes, they did.

Scott at Powerline has a great piece on it, as well as a deeper analysis in his Standard column, entitled "Exposure."   However, the excellent testimony and explanation by Professor John C. Eastman at a hearing of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, is the best, most comprehensive and cohesive explanation of the NYT's felonious behavior in publishing illegally obtained national intelligence information, particularly during a time of war.

So, how 'bout siccing the Justice Dept. on the NYT and their sources before they manage to undercut this country's national security interests any more than they already have?

It will take a while to read all of this, but it is well worth your time.  Simply a brilliant trio of articles, each succinctly analyzing the issues involved, in slightly more than the Cliff Notes version of the issue.

Homeschooling in Belgium - No picnic

Read the article by Alexandra Colen entitled Brussels Journal Editor Threatened with Prosecution over Homeschooling.  Wow!

This is what we homeschooling parents in the U.S. faced a couple of decades ago, although not quite to the extent this couple is presently being hounded by their government.  It is a reminder of why we must be vigilant of holding onto the most basic of rights we have as citizens, the right of raising our own children.

Hadji girl video

You may be hearing about this on MSM.  It would certainly fit into their anti-war/anti-American agenda.

Apparently, a Marine stationed in Iraq, has run into a little politically correct trouble, for writing and performing a song called "Hadji girl."  You can watch the video hereBlackfive has transcribed the lyrics, which reveal that the song is about a Marine being led into an ambush by an innocent-looking young woman.

CAIR and the BBC are making a fuss about this.  Hey, folks!  Get a clue.  War is not politically correct.  If writing songs helps our warriors blow off a little steam, so they can do their jobs in a professional manner, so be it.  Oh, and by the way, as you might expect CAIR and the BBC quoted lines out of context simply to fit their agenda.

Hey, Marine!  You write as many songs as you want.

ICE Arrests 2000 Illegals

In a story yesterday, AP reports that ICE had arrested approximately 2,000 illegals, most of whom were MS-13 gang members, violent criminals, and people previously deported.  Boy, are they going to be angry after they've had to walk through to desert to get back to their homes in the U.S.

Come on, guys (referring to ICE).  If you are serious about this, try sealing the borders so you don't have to keep arresting and deporting the same people.

Terrorist calls U.S. a Terrorist State

FNC says Freed Militant Indonesian Cleric Calls U.S. a State Terrorist.  I say, after the Terrorist responsible for the murder of 202 people in Bali was released from prison in Jakarta after serving only 2 years, we should pull all foreign aid from Indonesia.  This is an outrage.  At the very least, they could have had him transferred to GITMO.

With hurricane and typhoon season here again, I don't care what natural or unnatural disaster befalls any Muslim country, they won't be gettin' any donation from me.

Poor little invaders

l
This article is such BS!  Except for the part where the Border Patrol says, "There is no official data on the flow of illegal immigrants."  Further down, Richard Rojas, a BP spokesman, says that southern border apprehensions are 826,109 as compared to 795,218 this time last year.  Consider that the general rule of thumb is that apprehensions are about 1/4 of illegals  invaders who evaded capture, so that would mean, that just in this year alone ... so far.... approximately 2,478,327 are wandering around our country with no record of their presence whatsoever.

This maddening article ends with the sad sob story, that because of greater enforcement of our borders the poor little invaders are forced to invade at more inconvenient and dangerous places than before.  Cry me a friggin' river!

Remember, not all of these people are looking for work.  An increasing number of them are truly "bad guys" who want to destroy our country, our way of life, and KILL US!

Senate has sold our birthright, Thomas Sowell article

Thomas Sowell has a brilliant analysis of the Senate "Immigration" bill at Real Clear Politics.

The article begins with, "Many stores held sales over the Memorial Day holidays. In
Washington, the Senate immigration bill has been selling our birthright
for a message of political pottage.

Far from "controlling the borders" as advertised, this bill reduces
our existing control of the borders. Under a provision inserted at the
eleventh hour by Senator Arlen Specter, the Senate bill forbids the
federal government from building a fence without first consulting with
the Mexican government."

And, it just gets more maddening from there.  Read the whole thing.
